Formerly known as ‘Dark Red’, Tillandsia Houston ‘Red Princess’ has a deeper, much richer colored inflorescence than other forms of Houston. It is a hybrid between species Stricta and Recurvifolia, this same cross has also produced ‘Cotton Candy’, it is a fantastic hybrid of Tillandsia. It produces a giant pink inflorescence with lilac flowers when it blooms.
All of the plants may be shipped bare root.
Tillandsia Houston ‘Red Princess’ likes bright, indirect light. Keep this plant away from direct sunlight as this will cause the plant to develop burn marks.
No soil is needed. Sand, sea glass, rocks, pebbles & bark chips can be used instead of soil.
Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary.
Cold Hardy to 30° to 40°F.
