Musa Tropicana grows best under bright indirect sunlight, but it can adapt to medium light conditions. It is ideal to give this plant a few hours of sunlight a day. Banana Tree tolerates some direct sunlight, but scorching sun might burn its leaves.
This plant has a medium watering need. Check the soil twice per week and only water when the top 2″ of the soil is dry to the touch. Drain well after each watering to prevent root rot. Water less in the winter.
The best soil for this plant is well-drained, rocky potting soil.
This plant loves warm, humid environments and grows best in temperatures between 75°F-85°F. It will stop growing when the temperature falls below 55°F. This plant needs a high humidity level (at least 50%)so mist this plant frequently and use a humidifier when the room environment is dry.
This plant should be fertilized twice a month during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.
