Echinocereus Pulchellus var acanthosetus is a solitary or clumping cactus with flat globular bodies and short pale spines. The stems are hemispherical and up to 6 cm (but cultivated plants are frequently higher), 5-7cm in diameter, bluish-green when young.
The flowers are showy, pinkish-white to hot pink, up to 6 cm in diameter.
All of the plants may be shipped bare root.

It needs full sun exposure to light shade: direct sun for too long expose the plant to sunburn, but bright light encourages flowering.
Water moderately in the summer but keep the cactus completely dry. Avoid overwatering, this plant is very rot sensitive. Keep dry in winter.
Porous and well-drained cactus mix. Its taproot needs a deep pot to grow in, with good drainage.
It grows easily from seed or cutting.
